This is how you bring generations together! Chris grew up listening and playing oldies with his Dad. In this mashup the Rogue Hippies blend up Billie Eilish, GloRilla, and The Beatles, creating this sound that will have you feeling it from go. This will take you back to the 60s hearing it for the first time over these internet airwaves like a twisted transistor radio. When creating this live it was great to showcase that great music transcends, but it doesn't take over with other great music, it just blends. Sorta how we should be as people.

This is a photo of Chris’ first “best friend” who passed away in 1991 when Chris was eleven. Jeremy taught him how to actually live life however he dreamed. Even at a young age he knew how to live to the fullest. Embrace the risk. The world is a playground. So, play!

When Mat and Chris blended Weezer’s Sweater Song with 311’s Amber, it came out amazing and it is a track you will have on repeat all day. During the creation, there was playful laughter, and a crowd just singing and rocking with us. Living our dreams. The playfulness of it all reminded Chris of building treehouses in the summer time. We will release the track “Hold This Thread, As I Play Away” (Rogue Amber Remix) today.

Created a jazzy sound to hip-hop by adding brass and woodwind instruments from Wicked by Soltri to Shake Ya Ass by Mystikal, TGIF by Glorilla, and B R Right by Trina & Ludacris. The sound reminded me of something we would have heard from Ray's Boom Boom room in the 1930 prohibition area if today's hip hop artists traveled back in time.

Not everything is bad on Friday the 13th. Today I passed my final exam at the Pete Tong DJ Academy. This was a 4 month program with industry professionals such as Pete Tong, Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, TSHA, and a few others.

Two years ago I started mixing on a beginner two deck mixer, learning how to work the controller and software by watching YouRube how to videos, in particular DJ Carlo, winner of the RedBull Freestyle DJ championships.

Later I upgraded to a professional 4 deck mixer. Mixing and blending 3-4 songs together simultaneously was super intimidating but I had to learn to do it. The DJ academy taught me a lot about different equipment, transitions, effects, industry etiquette and some things I did not know.

Equally important, for someone from a small town in Kentucky without a mentor, the academy helped solidify with confidence all that I did know, validating that I’ve been on the right path. Making the right moves. Learning the right things.

It gave me confidence in what I’m doing on the boards that what I do is indeed to the professional level. The crowds also let me know that when I look up and see everyone having a great time.

As a graduate of the academy I’m now a member of their talent pool that at times, I can fill slots at gigs and festivals. It will still take plenty of work.

I love music. I love where it takes us. Trying to make peace with frequencies and beats instead of with bullets and bombs.

I’ll keep on surfing, just with another achievement on the resume.

My favorite part of this season in Kentucky is when the humidity in the atmosphere disappears and allows the sky to be viewed clearly. You can see satellites passing by, shooting stars nightly, and sometimes other planets. Black holes fascinate me as they consume light only to travel it across dimensions elsewhere.

Often I have considered the significance of each of us. How our eyes are two black holes consuming light and transferring it to another dimension inside your mind for perception and interpretation.

Therefore you are an entire galaxy.

A teacher once taught me by ending his show Star Gazers on KET, “Remember, always keep looking up”.

Mat Pentecost and I begin producing our first album this December, with another Madisonville KY native, now residing in Louisville KY, Mr. Andy Meyers.

We decided our first album will be a dual LP in the manner OutKast released Speaker Box and The Love Below. Two albums in one. While tipping our hat to the artistic and true musicianship of OutKast showcasing each members similarities and differentiation, while supporting and assisting each members direction, we will do the same.

Mat’s chosen direction we will create a nu-funk disco LP, and in my chosen direction we will create new remixes of oldies and 90s alternative with a touch of tech house LP.

As soon as two more exact dates are selected for a location we will be releasing our 2025 performance schedule, that includes:
